He now left the field and returned to his tent, comforting himfelf for the tofs he had fuffered by the vi&ory and defeat of the Chriftians Y but, not* withftanding this, he paffed the night in great fury* On the morrow*, before he was rifen or had (hewn himfelf, great numbers came before hi* tent, to learn his will refpeéting the prifoners ; for it had been rumoured that he intended bating them all put to death without mercy.
