It was manifeftly the Work of God, whofe punifti-ments are fevere, to make his creatures tremble. Have we not feen many fimilar examples, both in the Old and the New Teftament, cfpecially in the inftance of Nebuchadnezzar, king of the A Syri-ans? He reigned over them with fuch power, that nothing was fjpoken of but his magnificence and glory; when fuddenly, in the midft of his portip, the Lord of kings, GOD, the Mafter of heaven and earth, and Creator of all things, ftruck him in fuch wife that ht loft his fenfes and his •kingdom. He con tinned for feven years in this deplorable ftate, living on acôrns and wild fruits, having the tafte of a wild boar or hog.
