The two knights then left the king to continue his game, and went to fup and refrefh themfelves, for they had rode a long day's journey* The count de Foix, who refided at Mazer es, was not forgetful of the journey he was to make, and his preparations were foon ready, for he had given orders on that head when he had firft heard of the king's coming to Touloufe* He fent forward to Touloufe purveyances in abundance, fuitable to his rank, and had ordered two hundred knights and fquires from Beam to attend him. He * was alfo at-tended by lus two brothers^fir Peter and fir Ar-nold die Beam, and his two baftard-fons, whom he affisâaciiatcly loved, fir Evan and fir Gracien de Foix.
