The earl of Flanders, hearing all this conver-sation as he lay hid, you may eafily imagine, was in the greateft fear of his life. # In the morn- ' ing he could have faid he was one of thexnoft powerful princes in Chriftendom, and that fame night he felt himfelf one of the fmalleft.
