On this occafion, there was flain, on the part of the Engliih, a fquire. called flemond de Gederîach, who belonged to the divi-sion of the captai de Buck This attack laftéd the whole day, with little interim ffion. The Engliih retreated, towards night, to their quarters, in order to take care of the wounded; and on the morrow, s*t fun-rife, the marshal's trumpets founded. AU who were ordered for this aflault got themfelves in , readinefs i the prince of Wales him&lf attended iq perfon, and hy his prefence mightily encouraged the Engliih. A fquire, of the name of Bernard, was killed clofe at his fide, by a ftone thrown from the caftle: upon whifch the prince fwore, he would never move from that place until he had the caftle
