appointed the lord Percy, and the lord Ne*iHe of Raby, the archbiihop of York, the biftop of Dar-ham, and the ^bifhop of Lincoln, to be his lieute-nants for the northern parts of his kingdom ; mn3 lie did riot take fo many forces out of the realm but that- there waâ a fufficiency of men at arms left to defend it, fhould there be occafion. He took the road for Southampton, where he tarried until he had a favourable wind, when he embarked with his whole army.
On board the king's fhip were thé prince of Wales and fir Godfrey de Harcourt : the other lords, earls, and barons embarked with their men, as they had been ordered.
