The Englifh were well pleafed with this anfwer, and ftaid five days at Tours, paling their time "with thç king, the chief lords and the chancellor -of France. Having accomplifhed the éfejcâ of their coming, they took leave of the king and court. The king made them handfome prefents, for which they returned thanks, and had all their efc* ' penfes, while at Tours, paid.. During their flay, they neither faw nor fpoke with the duke of Brittany, for they were anxious *p avoid giving the French any caufe of fufpidon of underhand dealing. They returned through jfaris and Picardy to Calais, and, having a favour-able paflage, arrived at Dover, and thence jour-• fceyéd to London, where they found the king and council aCembled at Weftminfter, and related to them thé anfwer they had received, and what ob-fetVations they had made.
