TLI7HEN the king of France hacl been informed*
that the Hainaulters had burnt the country
of Tierache, had killed his knights, and deftroyed .his town of Aubenton, he ordered his fon, the dulçe of Normandy, to colleâ a number of forces, make an incurfion into Hainault, and deftroy that country in fuch a manner, that it might never recover
from it.
