When two Frenchmen mounted their horfes, and, placing their lances in their refts, charged him at , the fame time, and ftruck him to the ground : fome men at arms immediately ruflied upon him with their fwords, which they rati through his body, and killed him on the fpot. The greater part of his army were flain or made prifoners, and thofe who were able to efcape, returned to St. Sau-veur le Vicomte. This happened in the winter of 1356, about Martinmas. CHAP. CLXX.
